  • Are you able to work with Tribes outside of New Mexico and Arizona?
The short answer is no. We are officially mandated to work with tribes in both New Mexico and Arizona. We may be able to connect you with resources that could help you in your area.
  • Do you help individual families buy homes?
Our overall goal is to improve homeownership in Tribal communities. We do this by working with other organizations, Housing authorities and Tribal governments. We typically won't help you qualify individually but we can connect you to the resources that can help you get qualified to purchase a home.
  • Do you have Home loans that will help me purchase my home?
We have a few resources that will help you with a home loan for your specific community. For instance Native Community Capital [ https://www.nativecap.org/ ] is a Native CDFI that is able to lend in Tribal communities.
  • Do you provide Homebuyer education?
In metro areas we can do a short intro class that will give you a strong understanding of the home buying process, these classes are typically run twice a year by Real Estate professionals. For tribal communities, we can help your Housing authority or Real Estate offices to become certified as a Housing Counselor to provide counseling services to their community members. We also have a partner non-profit organization called Southwest Native Assets Coalition that is a certified housing and financial literacy counselor that can work with your Organization or individual family. • Do you only work with affordable housing projects?
No. A majority of our work is going to be done in supporting market rate housing. We know and understand there is a massive need for market rate housing within tribal communities. We also understand that market rate housing is the cornerstone for a strong economy. There is a large amount of returning middle to high income families, and professionals who cannot find homes in their respective communities due to limited housing stock. Typically those families and professionals tend to move to available homes in border towns and spend their incomes there.
  • Are you able to build homes on the reservation?
We are not builders or developers, however we can convene those professionals that would have the resources and skill sets to create housing for those communities. OR at least help point you in the right direction.
